Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Casserole
I was craving something different for breakfast so decided to try this little recipe. So delicious! It hit the spot and Eli was a big fan too! I got this recipe from http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sausage-and-Egg-Casserole/Detail.aspx. I cut it in half and took out the things I did not have like ground mustard and I did not add any salt.
1/2 lb of ground sausage (I used Jimmy Dean’s mild sausage)
3 to 4 eggs
1 cup milk
2 to 3 slices bread broken into small pieces (I used whole wheat)
1/2 cup cheddar cheese (I might have put in a little more). I love cheese!
Cook sausage and drain. Mix egg and milk together in a separate bowl. Break up bread and put in egg mixture, add cheese and sausage and mix up. Pour in a 8 x 8 glass cooking dish, cover with foil and put it in the fridge over night. Take it out in the morning and let it sit for 15-30 min. Bake uncovered at 350 for about 35 to 40 min. Until fork comes out clean.
