The first day was a great success. Eli was so excited when he saw a new area set up for him. We put corks in a puff can, and he wanted to do it over and over again. He colored his A for Alligator print up sheet and played with his Leapfrog A magnet. We sang alligator songs and by the end of the day he was saying Chomp, Chomp for the alligator. We walked the alligator outside, and I wrote lots of A’s with sidewalk chalk on the concrete.
We had a surprise visit from a friend’s black lab, and Eli got to chase him around the back yard. Check out the Tot Idea tab for more of what we did for today. Oh, and he said bye, bye for the first time today. It has nothing to do with tot school, but it was exciting to hear bye instead of hi all the time.
Day two was not so good for me. I was not as organized, and Eli had his 15 month shots. He did love putting checkers in the three slits I made in the shoebox. I pointed out the letter A a lot and it sounded like he was actually saying it instead of star. We read some books about Angels.
Day three was APPLES. We have been eating an apple every day for lunch. Today I was feeding him some food, and he pointed to the counter, saw the apple and said ap…pullll. I wish we had an apple picking farm close by, but maybe next year we will drive to Hendersonville, NC for the Apple Festival.
Day four was for ACORNS! We had a fun adventure to our local park where we searched for acorns and put them in our bucket. He loved finding them and taking them in and out of the bucket. At the end of the day, he knew what I was talking about when I mentioned acorns. I could not say the word because he would cry and want to go outside where I left the bucket of acorns. So cute!
Day five was AIRPLANES, and Eli loves some airplanes. I had three great books from the library that we read over and over again. We live close to the airport, so we see and hear lots of airplanes flying by. We took a trip to the airport to see some airplanes take off too.
